ODISHA COUNSELLING PROCESS

State Counseling Authority (State DME)

The state counselling held by each individual state medical council for the 85% of the seats in the government colleges, state run universities and the private medical colleges of the state. Only students who qualify in NEET will be eligible for the counselling subject to State rule and regulations.

Eligibility

  • The candidates must be permanent natives of Odisha,
  • The candidates must be of 17 years of age as on 31.12.2023 and there will be no upper age limit.
  • The candidate must have passed +2 Sc. and in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have secured minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at +2 Sc. level for General Candidate (GE), 40% for SC/ST candidates and 45% for benchmark disability candidates (PC-GE). The required mark for Physically Challenged candidate of SC/ST category is 40%.

RESERVATION

The reservation policy of State Government will be followed

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 12%
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 8%
  • Physically Challenged (PC) - 5% of each category
  • Ex-Servicemen (ES) - 3%
  • Green Card Holders (GC) - 5%
  • State Government Schools (SGS) – 15% (shall be horizontal covering all vertical reservations as well as unreserved Group)
  • EWS – 10% (when appropriate number of seats have been increased to accommodate such EWS quota).

 (Any other reservation category, if notified by Govt., shall also be applicable).

  • There will be no reservation for Private Medical Colleges on other state Candidate.
  • The Candidates are requested to go through the eligibility conditions before applying for the State quota of the Private Medical Colleges/ Universities/Institutes and ensure that they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions.

N.B: Candidates must note that the benefit of reservation will be given to them subject to verification of documents. If it is discovered at any stage that a candidate has used a false/fake/incorrect document, or has furnished false, incorrect, or incomplete information, in order to avail the benefit of reservation, then such a candidate shall be excluded from all admission processes. In case such a candidate has already been given admission, the admission shall stand cancelled.)

Important Pont for Admission Process

  • All NEET Qualified and eligible candidates are required to register on the Counselling website to participate in the counselling process for allotment of seat.
  • A candidate can submit NEET-UG Counselling application/registration form only once.
  • Any candidate found to have submitted more than one application/registration form for NEET-UG Counselling shall be debarred from NEET-UG Counselling allotment process, his/her candidature shall be cancelled.
  • Then all the successful Registration Candidate follow the Round wise counseling properly.
