MBBS (UG) COUNSELLING

There are three types of Counseling Authority for MBBS and BDS Admission in India. Students who want to take admission in MBBS and BDS can register for these three counseling. Admission in MBBS and BDS by these three counseling authorities will be on NEET score but for counseling registration will have to be done separately. So come, I will give you complete information about these three type of Counseling.

  • MCC ( Medical Counseling Committee )
  • State Counseling Authority ( State DME )
  • Open State Counselling (for Private MBBS/BDS Admission)

ALL INDIA COUNSELLING MCC (Medical Counseling Committee)

As per the information brochure and the latest guidelines, NEET counselling is broadly of two types. One is the All India counselling conducted by DGHS for 15% All India Quota seats in government medical colleges and all seats in Central Institutions including AIIMS, JIPMER, AFMC, ESI, Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, and Deemed Universities.

This committee has been constituted by the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for admission in MBBS, BDS, and PG and it is a Centralized counseling committee. In this, the admission process is completely online, that is, from registration to seat allotment, all the processes are online only. In this, the students of all the states of All India are eligible for admissions who have qualified NEET  irrespective of the state they belong to.

Admission is given for MBBS and BDS in these Medical Institutions by MCC.

MCC ( Medical Counseling Committee )

Eligibility Condition for AIQ:

  • The Candidate should have qualified NEET UG.
  • Domicile free

MCC is conducting Counselling for:

  • 15% All India Quota seats MBBS/BDS seats of States (Including J&K)
  • 100% MBBS/ BDS Seats of BHU OPEN
  • 100% MBBS/BDS Seats of DEEMED UNIVERSITY (Private)
  • AIIMS Open seats- 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India
  • JIPMER Open (Puducherry/ Karaikal) & Internal seats (Domicile)
  • AMU Open & Internal seats
  • 85% Internal quota/domicile seats of DU/I.P University (VMMC/BVIMS/ESIC Dental)
  • Jamia Open seats- Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia) & Internal seats
  • 15% All India Quota Seats of ESIC & Insured Persons quota seats
  • AFMC – Only registration
  • 100% B. Sc (Nursing) of selected Central B.Sc. Nursing Institutes in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria /other norms/ applicable regulations/ guidelines/ rules. Reservation

Reservation Policy of the Central Government for the NEET (UG) Counselling in All India Quota/Central Institutes/  (ABVIMS & RML and VMMC & SJH, ESIC) Universities (DU, AMU, BHU)/AIIMS/JIPMER/DEEMEED is as follows:

Round of AIQ Counselling

There will be four rounds of AIQ online counseling i.e.

  • AIQ Round 1
  • AIQ Round 2
  • AIQ Round 3 (earlier known as AIQ Mop-Up Round)
  • AIQ Stray Vacancy
All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across the Country. Cut-off rank of eligible candidates will also be available on the MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in)/   https://neet.nta.nic.in/

Deemed Counselling

There will be four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round. All the 4 rounds shall be conducted online by MCC as per the directions the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide order dated 12.12.2022.

There will be no reservation for OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD/EWS candidates in Deemed Universities.

Eligibility Condition for Deemed University:

  • The Candidate should have qualified NEET UG
  • Domicile free

NRI Quota

The Candidates who wish to claim the benefit under NRI category through NRI sponsorship will have to submit the following.

  • Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer)
  • Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders of The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in case W.P.(c) No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Ans. Vs Union of India &Ors. dated 22-08- 2017.
  • ffidavit from the sponsorer that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.
  • Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate)
  • NEET Score Card of the candidate

State Counseling Authority (State DME)

he state counselling held by each individual state medical council for the 85% of the seats in the government colleges, state run universities and the private medical colleges of the state. Only students who qualify in NEET will be eligible for the counselling subject to State rule and regulations.

A Counseling Committee is constituted by the Concerned State DME for admission in MBBS and BDS in their respective State by all the States, so that 85% Government seats in their respective State and Private Medical College in all seats on NEET Score. The candidates who are residents of the state can take admission in the Government and Private Medical Colleges of their own state.

Admission under State Quota Seats shall be subject to reservation policy and eligibility criteria prevailing in the State/Union Territory as notified by the respective State/Union Territory from time to time.

The reservation of the seats in medical colleges for respective categories shall be as per applicable laws prevailing in the State/Union Territory concerned. Admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses in Private Medical Colleges shall be subject to policies of the Government of India/State/Union Territory

  • 85% MBBS/ BDS Seats of States
  • 100% MBBS/ BDS Seats of Private Colleges (Close State)
  • Some % MBBS/ BDS Seats of Private Colleges (Open State)

Open State Counseling Only Private Colleges

A Counseling Committee is constituted by the Concerned State DME for admission in MBBS and BDS in their respective Private Colleges, so that some % seats in their Private Medical College permission to other state students admission on NEET Score Basic. The candidates who are out side the state can take admission in the Private Medical Colleges in their state.

  • There will be no reservation for Private MBBS/BDS Admission in other state students

Admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses in Private Medical Colleges shall be subject to policies of the Government of India/State/Union Territory.

  • The Candidate should have qualified NEET UG
  • State Domicile/Residency ( Not Mandatory )
  • 100% MBBS/ BDS Seats of Private Colleges (Close State)
  • Some % MBBS/ BDS Seats of Private Colleges (Open State)
