About BAMS
BAMS stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and surgery. It is a five-year six-month undergraduate degree program. Eligibility for BAMS Admission
Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) of the Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India, New Delhi, conducts Online Counseling for allotment of AIQ-Undergraduate (BAMS/BSMS BUMS/BHMS) seats of Ayurveda/ Siddha/Unani/ Homoeopathy under Govt. /Govt. Aided/Central Universities/National Institutes/Deemed Universities to the NEET (UG) qualified eligible candidates since 2019. For the academic year 2024-25, the allotment of seats is based on the candidate’s merit in the NEET (UG)-2024 Examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Qualifying Exam : NEET- National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) are used commonly to shortlist candidates.
NEET Must be Qualified as per norms
Eligible for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses (BAMS/BHMS) for a particular academic year in case of General, General-EWS, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at 50th percentile in NEET(National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) to Undergraduate Medical Courses held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at the 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with Pwd specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for Unreserved Category & GEN-EWS Category candidates and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates.
- The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to Undergraduate Ayush Courses.
NEET Qualifying Exam : 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subject in both Classes 11 and 12 from a recognised board.
Qualifying Marks : GENERAL (UR) – 50%, OBC/SC/ST – 40%, PWD – 45% (minimum aggregate marks only for PCB subjects)
Age Requirement : Shall have a minimum age of 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission : No upper age limit.
Nationality : Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs & Foreign Nationals
Eligibility Condition for BAMS Admission

- Domicile Mandatory for (SQ)
BAMS Admission Process
All the Ayurvedic colleges in India will take admissions on the basis of NEET marks and All India Ranks Basis. Candidates who have qualified the NEET exam can start preparing for All India and State level Ayush counselling sessions for the admission of BAMS/BHMS Courses.
No direct admission in College/University level.
Counselling Process
Counseling for All India Quota-UG (BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BHMS) seats of Private ASU&H Institutes will be conducted by respective State/UT counseling authority, and the candidates are required to contact the concerned State-UT Counseling/Admission Authority for the same.
Type of counseling
There are twoo types of Counseling Authority for BAMS and BHMS Admission in India. Students who want to take admission in BAMS and BHMS can register for these two counseling. Admission in BAMS and BHMS by these two counseling authorities will be on NEET score basis but for counseling registration will have to be done separately.
1) AACCC (Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee)
2) State Ayush Counseling Authority ( State DME )
The counselling for admission to the seats under the control of State Governments/ UT Administrations / State Universities/ Institutions shall be conducted by the designated authorities of the State Governments as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned.

.N.B : Candidate may kindly note that registering for Ayush Counselling does not confer any automatic rights to secure an Under Graduate seat. The selection and admission to Under Graduate seats in any Ayush Institution recognized for running Under Graduate courses subject to fulfilling the merit, admission criteria, eligibility, and such criteria as may be prescribed by the respective universities, Ayush institutions, Ayush Council of India, State/Central Government.

Important Note :
- Candidates can submit the AACCC-UG counseling registration/application form only once. Candidates who submit more than one registration/application form shall be debarred, and further action as deemed appropriate by the AACCC, M/o Ayush, shall be taken.
- Registration facility shall be available at the beginning of the 1st Round, 2nd Round & 3rd Round, as specified in the Counseling Schedule. Further, any request (for any reason) for registration shall not be entertained after the closing of registration. There will be no fresh registration for the Stray Vacancy Round.
- The information regarding fee structure/stipend/bond amount/rendering of service in rural/tribal areas/ hostel/ food/ other conditions has been provided by concerned Ayurveda /Siddha/ Unani/Homoeopathy Colleges. The AACCC, M/o Ayush, shall not take responsibility for the information provided by the participating institutes. Hence, Candidates are advised to visit the College website or contact the College Authorities directly for any query regarding the above information before filling choices.
- Candidates are advised to confirm the fee structure/ any other additional fee from the colleges especially Deemed Universities, Private College before filling up the choices. Some colleges/institutes might have a high fee structure; therefore, accurate information about the fee should be made beforehand. The AACCC, M/o Ayush takes no responsibility for the fee structure of the Colleges.
